Work Out Wear

Tuesday, July 23, 2013

Shopping for work out clothing is the first step in exercising regularly, right?  (Keep telling yourself that, Natalie...)

It has been at least 3 years since I even entertained the idea of exercising regularly.  So needless to say, I have a handful of t-shirts and maybe 1 pair of yoga pants that make up my workout wardrobe.  It doesn't help being a plus sized lady because most everything in a store is made for the people who always exercise and are much smaller.

Also, I am known for my cheapness in the clothing department.  I will exercise in my work slacks before I spend triple digits for a pair of yoga pants.  I'd like my 'work out' look to cost no more than $30-$40 dollars.  So here is what I have come up with...

So, plus size exercisers - tell me where you get your reasonably priced work out wear?

  1. I agree. It is hard to find cheap, plus size exercise clothes. Right now I have one pair of black workout capris (stretchy cotton) that I purchased from the clearance rack at Cato's. I just wash them EVERY night...lol. I'm too cheap to buy more right now. Besides those are already getting too big and I can't afford to buy new clothes all the time. So I just pull the drawstring and roll the waist down. Then I have several Just My Size tank tops from walmart that I wear. Nothing fancy. I don't even have a real sports bra right now...gasp. I just wear long, very tight fitting white cotton spaghetti strap cami under the tank tops. However, a sports bra is on my list of must haves soon. Maybe then I'll splurge on some real old navy workout clothes..lol.

  2. I don't need plus-size, but I pretty much wear Wal Mart for my workout wear-- their Danskin Now line is pretty good and reasonable. They have some plus size items for it as well. I usually get Old Navy for some of their stuff when it's cheap. I have a couple of pairs of skirted leggings that I can't decide if they are awesome or totally ridiculous. At least I'm wearing them to the gym, right?

  3. Old Navy has some great finds. You can get some really great workout gear there cheap when they do big sales/clearances. You just have to look hard and get to the sale early :)

  4. Yesterday I saw a man running in a khaki shirt, khaki shorts (with a black belt of course), and BAREFOOT. Running, on a gravely trail. So your work pants are fine :)

  6. I guess the price is a bit high for me. Last week I got some Bella shirts and happy with it. Even I can use them for casual:
